In a world that constantly asks us to do more, go faster, and be available at all times, creating a sacred space at home is a radical act of self-love. At RÖÖTED Wellness Sanctuary, we believe everyone deserves a place where they can pause, breathe, reflect, and return to themselves.
You don’t need a large home, fancy tools, or a lot of money to create a sacred space. What you need is intention, presence, and a willingness to reclaim a piece of your world as yours. A space that holds your healing, your truth, and your peace.
Here’s how to create your own wellness sanctuary at home.
1. Choose the Space with Intention
Your sacred space doesn’t need to be an entire room—it can be a corner of your bedroom, a sunny window, a cushion by your bed, or a spot on your porch. What matters is that you feel safe, calm, and inspired in this place.
Ask yourself:
-
Where in my home do I feel most relaxed?
-
Where can I go to be alone and uninterrupted, even briefly?
2. Clear the Energy
Before you add anything, clear the space physically and energetically. Declutter the area and wipe it down with intention.
Then, cleanse the energy using one or more of the following:
-
Burn sage, palo santo, or a cleansing herb bundle
-
Diffuse essential oils like lavender, frankincense, or cedarwood
-
Use sound—bells, singing bowls, or your voice—to shift the frequency
As you clear the space, say aloud:
“This space is sacred. Only love, peace, and healing may enter here.”
3. Add Meaningful Objects
Surround yourself with items that uplift, inspire, and ground you. This could include:
-
A meditation cushion or yoga mat
-
Crystals, feathers, or natural elements
-
Candles or soft lighting
-
A plant or flower to bring life
-
Photos of ancestors or loved ones
-
Journals, sacred texts, or spiritual books
Only include what feels meaningful to you—your space should reflect your energy and spirit.
4. Set the Vibe
Consider the atmosphere you want to create. Do you want it to feel calming, energizing, creative, or spiritually charged?
Support your space with:
-
Soft textures like rugs, throws, or floor pillows
-
Calming music, binaural beats, or nature sounds
-
Scent—whether from oils, incense, or fresh herbs
-
Natural light during the day or warm-toned lighting at night
Let this space feel like a hug for your nervous system.
5. Use it Consistently
Don’t just create a sacred space—use it. Even if it’s just for five minutes a day. Make it a habit to come to this space to:
-
Meditate
-
Breathe
-
Stretch or practice yoga
-
Journal or pray
-
Pull a card or set intentions
-
Be still and do absolutely nothing
The more you return to your sanctuary, the more your nervous system will begin to associate it with calm, healing, and peace.
6. Make It a Living Space
Your sacred space can and should evolve. Change your space with the seasons, add new elements when you feel inspired, or remove things that no longer serve you.
Let your space grow with you. Let it reflect who you’re becoming.
Come Home to Yourself
Your home is not just a place to exist—it can be a sanctuary for healing. And your sacred space is your reminder that within the noise of the world, there is always stillness within you.
At RÖÖTED, we believe creating a sanctuary isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. It’s a reclaiming. A remembering. A way back to your center.
Create your space. Keep it sacred. Let it hold you.
